The media industry is constantly evolving. Old truths are thrown out, new ones arrive and it’s happening in a tremendous pace. What was a safe business model yesterday, is probably not today, and most certainly not in the future. To find new opportunities for innovation and growth require a coordinated commitment.
Media Evolution is a media cluster that brings together and strengthens the efforts in the media industry in Southern Sweden (Skåne and Blekinge). We talk about media in the broadest sense: TV, web, games, film, mobile platforms and so on. We are a membership organization that unites business, public sector and representatives from cultural and scientific communities to build mutual understandings and create a ground for new collaborations.
We want to eliminate obstacles, drive dialogue, inspire and highlight new opportunities for business development between borders in the media industry. We do this through supporting and managing projects and events that contribute to meetings and increased knowledge of players in the industry. Our goal is to build transnational networks, stimulating growth, job creation and innovation. Eventually, we want Media Evolution and southern Sweden to become the leading platform for innovation in the media industry.
At the moment Media Evolution consists of about 100 members that want to contribute to the media industry development in Southern Sweden. These include Scandvision Communication, Region Skåne, Region Blekinge, BoostHbg, Good Old, Sydsvenskan, First Flight, Doc Lounge, Hyper Island and Netport.Karlshamn.
Media Evolution is funded over three years (2009-11) by Region Skåne, Malmö City, the EU Structural Funds through the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Region Blekinge, City of Helsingborg, Malmö University and Netport.Karlshamn.
