This book is a result of Media Evolution’s The Futures We Build project, in which four interdisciplinary teams were invited to create visions portraying futures in which the built environment sector has met its shared sustainability goals. In this book, the visions are described and visualized by the teams. The Preface and Playbook chapters are written by Reeta Hafner, Foresight lead at Media Evolution and illustrated by Dick Hedlund.

Context
The Futures We Build is a strategic project of Smart Built Environment that seeks to provide guidance on the question “How will the built environment and the sector shaping it look, function and be organised in a future Sweden where shared sustainability goals have been achieved?”
In the project, four interdisciplinary teams were invited to create future visions. These visions are intended to support, inspire and inform the sector in its quest to transform by leveraging digitalisation and other shifts needed to meet shared sustainability objectives.
