Competence Attraction

To be able to play for continuum and growth we see the importance of attracting competence into the business sector in Malmö and Southern Sweden. In the years ahead we face a competence gap within the digital industries, among most other sectors, in Skåne. Therefore we engage as intermediaries in the conversation together with politicians and actors in the region, and when opening up discussions on a closer level together with our co-owners and people from our community. Together with businesses and the public sector we create concepts to attract more competence into the region.

Onboarding Malmö – Soft Landing Program

Have you recently relocated to Malmö due to your partner’s new job at a company in Sweden? If your partner has been recruited and you and your family are living here, this might be a good opportunity for you!

The City of Malmö and Media Evolution offer a new professional networking program in Malmö to introduce and integrate partners of newly-employed international talents into the Malmö business community.

The program includes group sessions, individual meetings, exploring Malmö, work-life in Malmö, building deeper connections, social gatherings, and of course, sessions about the unique Swedish workplace culture. There will be study visits, dinners, networking events, bike tours, 1-on-1 meetings, and much more. Join us and let’s settle into Malmö together.

Malmö Residency

Together with over 70 other organisations we are inviting people to participate in a community-scale month-long Malmö Residency. Think about it as a context away from home that gives space and time to focus on your next idea or project, bounce ideas off new people, and gain new perspectives. Travel, accommodation and other perks are on the Malmö community. In the first Malmö Residency 649 people from 74 countries applied.

The topics or themes you should be thrilled by if interested in applying:

Wise Cities – senses, sensors and all things urban developments
Late Digitization – AI, spatial computing, web3, and all things emerging tech
Green Transition – business models, regenerative products, measurement, governance, and all things sustainability
