Workshop
Foresight
9 am — 12 pm
In recent years, we’ve seen development in digital systems and data sources, including public participation and decision-making platforms. This has opened up for new opportunities in how we design, plan and operate our urban spaces and respond to the challenges cities and urban communities face today and in the future.
We invite curious community members to come examine various ways in which our digital systems might support resilient and thriving urban communities in Southern Sweden in the future. In the workshop, we’ll visit and discuss several scenarios of possible futures imagined by a workgroup from different disciplines and backgrounds.
These futures will explore different ways in which we might design, plan and operate our urban spaces using digital technologies, including fostering transparency, citizen participation, tapping into developments in AI technologies, harnessing the connection between analogue and digital ways of participation, resilience and sustainability. We will discuss our assumptions about what’s possible and how we might prepare for and impact change in the face of the uncertainties we face individually, in organisations and as s society.
Our Futures are plural! We welcome folks with education- employment- and lived-experience and expertise to join this community workshop. You could be a researcher, an interaction designer, a health practitioner, a systems engineer, an urban planner, a community organiser, a human rights activist, a psychologist, a communications professional or other!
Coffee and tea will be served at 8:30.
We’ll start promptly at 9:00.
Facilitators: The workshop will be facilitated by Media Evolution’s Foresight lead, Reeta Hafner
Participation is free of charge but seats are limited, so sign up in advance!
